Boracay on a Budget: 10 Must-Try Activities This 2024

Boracay on a budget

We went to Boracay last March but we spent a lot because it was my fiancee’s birthday celebration and we brought our daughter with us. We are planning to go back anytime soon and while we are there, we learned that we can travel to Boracay on a budget.

Going to Boracay doesn’t have to break the bank. This paradise offers a plethora of activities for the budget-conscious Pinoy traveler.

Here are 10 things to do in Boracay on a budget:

White Beach Stroll

Start your day with a serene walk along the famous White Beach, where the softest sands meet crystal-clear waters—absolutely free! There are also some hotels who can lend you beach mats and towels that you can use. Also if you have kids, they are also lending beach toys for making sand castles.

Sunset at Diniwid Beach

Escape the crowds and catch a breathtaking sunset at Diniwid Beach. A quieter alternative, it’s perfect for soulful reflections. This is best if you are staying at Station 1 or any nearby areas. It will be a long walk if you will be coming from Station 2 or 3. In our case, we just went to Smooth Cafe which is near Station 1. The cafe has this chill vibes, the staff and even the other customers are friendly!

Puka Shell Beach

Puka Beach, often referred to as Yapak Beach, offers a tranquil coastal ambiance away from the typical tourist hustle. Renowned in the past for its glistening puka shells, these charming tiny shells would become collectibles along the shore following the ebb of the tide.

Talipapa Shopping

Experience local vibes and find budget-friendly souvenirs at the Talipapa markets. Haggling is key! Tip: Do not buy clothes before going to Boracay. Just buy in the markets, it’s way more cheaper!

Mount Luho Viewpoint

For a minimal entrance fee, hike up to Mount Luho for panoramic views of the island. Those who dare to tackle the hundred-meter ascent to Mount Luho’s summit are greeted with breathtaking panoramic vistas. Don’t forget your camera!

Island Food Trip

Indulge in affordable local dishes at the island’s eateries. Look out for places where locals dine for the best deals. These restaurants are mostly hiding in the streets. A lot of the restaurants on the beach front will rip out your wallets.

Station 3 Chill

Station 3 is known for its laid-back vibe and cheaper accommodations. Perfect for beach bums on a budget!

Fruit Shakes by the Beach

Refresh with a tantalizing fruit shake from one of the many stalls along the beachfront—a delicious yet economical treat. One famous fruit shake in Boracay is Jonah’s Fruit Shake Boracay there are a lot of stalls in Boracay that sells their famous fruit shake and they only costs less than P200.

Snorkeling in Bulabog Beach

Rent snorkeling gear for a small fee and explore the underwater life at Bulabog Beach. It’s an affordable way to witness Boracay’s aquatic beauty. Some offers activities in a bundle that would cost you less. Again, you can still haggle these prices.

Paraw Sailing at Sunset

While paraw sailing can be pricey, sharing the cost with a group makes this unforgettable experience more accessible. Like snorkeling, paraw sailing can also be bundle with other activities. We were able to avail these activities in one bundle together with the Crystal Kayak and a private yacht party which will be mentioned in the next part.

Additional thing to do:

If you are with a group of friends and have additional budget, you should check out Red Whale Boracay. It’s a private party in a yacht! This yacht is an ideal venue for private weddings, birthday celebrations, or business gatherings. Typically, they arrange the bar on the sundeck, offering a breathtaking 360-degree ocean panorama. Additionally, they can facilitate a comprehensive DJ and sound system installation for memorable festivities. The catering services are generally organized on the lower deck. Last 2 Tips for Traveling to Boracay On A Budget:

Before I forget, if you are coming from other places that needs air travel, you should also check if there are promo fares and take note of the weather during your flight’s date and time. Our flights got delayed due to the rain and it might be an inconvenience if you have a kid with you.

Try to book your accommodation via booking sites like Agoda. You might be able to get more discounted rates there than the one published on the hotel’s site. Some hotels lack marketing that’s why they mostly depend on booking sites. (Trust me, I’m a former hotelier)

Boracay is a haven for travelers seeking beauty and adventure without spending a fortune if you plan ahead of time. You will really spend a lot if you plan your trip on a short notice.
